How to grow your business on Social Media. Steps to increasing post engagement

I meet many businesses that want to increase their social media engagement, and most times the answer is in digital marketing.

But what most businesses fail to understand is that engagement is not in the number of Followers but in the value you provide.

It's common to find pages with thousands of Followers on Facebook or Instagram, only to see them have tens of likes on the posts.

Sad.

To get maximum engagement on your social media pages you need to shift your attention to your followers not your business. It doesn't matter how many followers you have, no one is going to like your posts if they can't relate to what you are sharing.

Don't spend thousands of your money trying to get followers, only to be left with monologue pages that look like ghost towns, getting an audience is hard and maintaining it is harder (especially for businesses).

Increasing your page engagement to get more likes and shares for your posts.

Okay, now that you know why your posts look as if no one sees them, it's time we did something.
Before sharing content on you social media Page, you need to get in your customer's head.

What do your customers like about your business?
What wording or phrasing can you use on your content to make it more likeable?

In short. You need to resonate with your audience. The mere fact that someone already follows you means that they are already interested in what you offer, they know what you sell and if they haven't bought it already, they probably don't have the finances to purchase it at the moment.

Now, what do you do? You provide value by feeding to their curiosity. Instead of creating endless posts about products you have for sale urging people to buy, you create posts that are geared to informing the customer about the product.

One of the secrets of marketing is getting the customer so informed about a product, that they are so thrilled with it that they basically wish they can buy it.
That's where awareness comes in. Awareness comes first. The easiest way to sell anything is by making sure the prospect is already familiar with it.

Stop trying to sell to Followers that aren't interested in your product. This only turns them away. Change your content strategy to content that provides more information about your services and products and make the information sound casual and fun, that way you will be better placed for more likes and Followers.
